The indefinite personal pronoun ‘eko’
In the UFOSAT conlang (constructed language, artificial language), the ‘eko’ indefinite personal pronoun is used in conjunction with a general habit or practice, not related to a particular subject.
In English, the same meaning is usually rendered by the ‘you’ or ‘they’ personal pronouns or by ‘people’, while in French this is achieved by the indefinite pronoun ‘on’ and in Italian by ‘si’.
For instance:
- eko hode cufi goge = they/people travel a lot nowadays – on tours beaucoup aujourd’hui – si viaggia molto oggi
- eko mi ce heda bebo = they/people eat little fruit – on mange peu de fruits – si mangia poca frutta
