From Verbs to Individuals

In the UFOSAT conlang, from the root of a verb you can infer and derive the terms designating the individuals habitually carrying out the action expressed by the verb.

The root of a verb is the verb itself without the final ‘-i’.

You get the term for the customary individual by adding ‘-al’ to the verb root, plus the gender ending.

Examples for the verb ‘kini’ (to love):

  1. kinalo = a female or male person who loves, a lover
  2. kinalis = a female person who loves
  3. kinalid = a male person who loves
However, when there is no neuter gender termination, you can omit ‘-al’ , if you wish, and just use the gender ending.
To make it clear:
  1. kinalis = a female person who loves
  2. kinis = a female person who loves
  3. kinalid = a male person who loves
  4. kinid = a male person who loves
So, kinalis/kinis are synonyms and kinalid/kinid are synonyms too.

The following further examples take into consideration the verbs ‘dati’ (to study) and ‘tudi’ (to work):
  1. datalo = a person who studies, a student
  2. datalis = a female person who studies, a female student
  3. datis = a female person who studies, a female student
  4. datalid = a male person who studies, a male student
  5. datid = a male person who studies, a male student
  6. tudalo = a person who works, a worker
  7. tudalis = a female person who works, a female worker
  8. tudis = a female person who works, a female worker
  9. tudalid = a male person who works, a male worker
  10. tudid = a male person who works, a male worker
